Picture Perfect Colorado is moving into its second month, bringing you double the visual splendor this Twofer Tuesday! Each featured photographer this week will share two distinct perspectives of our stunning state, showing just how varied Colorado’s beauty can be.

These double features not only showcase our photographers’ skill but also remind us that Colorado’s landscapes offer endless opportunities for creative expression. Whether pointing their cameras toward wildlife, architecture, or natural landscapes, our community members continue to find fresh ways to share their vision of this remarkable state.

With the introduction out of the way, our first featured photographer is Perry Peine of Steele Street Photography.

Group Member – Perry Peine

There’s something iconic about a bison in the snow. While looking straight into the eyes of such a massive animal can be unnerving, it’s impossible to look away.

From the cold stare of a horned bovine to an epic sunset sky over the Rocky Mountains.

The Denver Airport takes the cake for me as one of the strangest designs of any major airports I’ve traveled through. It is interesting though, and this view is pretty awesome. To see more of Perry’s work, check out his pages:

Group Member – David Dolton

From a pointing top building to a row of pointy top mountains and another icon Colorado view by David Dolton. This shot of the Sandhill Cranes flying in front the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range tells such a beautiful story.

I haven’t been to the Monte Vista Crane Festival, but after seeing photos like this I know I need to put it on my calendar.

Complementing his crane photography, David’s second capture showcases Colorado’s San Juan Mountains.

The timing, composition and exposure of this photo are spot on. I have been to this exact spot a bunch of times and have seen conditions like this. Beautiful capture, David!

Group Member – Sean Green

Continuing with another living creature for the first featured photo, I wanted to share this stunner by Sean Green.

When I talked with Sean about this jumping spider photo, he shared an interesting story. The spider, facing likely removal by a neighbor, got a second chance when Sean offered to safely relocate it outdoors. Before it was pardoned though, he was able to take some focus-stacked shots of it for this final photo.

Sean’s second photo is kind of a non-sequitur, other than it’s not a photo a living creature.

This is Colorado famous icon known as the ‘Crystal Mill’. However, is actually not a mill, but it was a compressor station used to power tools for mining operations. The original of the power station was the “Sheep Mountain Power House”. To see more of Sean’s work, check out his social media pages:
