It’s been a month since the first post in the group and Picture Perfect Colorado continues to grow as a warm and supportive community. Which has shown in the group on Facebook and in our first group meetup at Garden of the Gods Park last weekend. Under a stunning Colorado sunset, about 15 of us gathered to share our passion for photography and community. The casual atmosphere allowed everyone to get to know each other while discussing photography techniques and favorite shooting locations.
The success of our first in-person gathering proves what we’ve known all along – that Colorado photographers are some of the friendliest and encouraging people you’ll meet. As the sun painted the iconic red rocks in brilliant hues, we spread out in the park, each finding their unique perspective on this familiar landmark. The mix of experience levels led to organic mentoring moments, with photographers sharing tips and tricks with one another.
Jae was gracious enough to snap a group shot of us. At least everyone we could gather for the photo. There were more in attendance.

One of our members at the Walkabout was Bob Falcone, or as some might know him by another name, “Hiking Bob”. He is the first featured photographer for this week.
Group Member – Bob Falcone
Bob captured this great shot in the Eleven Mile Canyon recently. Love the exposure time for capturing the movement of the river in this photo.

Aside from taking beautiful pictures, Bob also hosts a podcast, “Outdoors with Hiking Bob”, where he regularly has guest on talking about local topics of interest. You can find out more about his podcast and see his photography on his website and social media accounts:

From Bob’s beautiful morning in Eleven Mile Canyon to another beautiful morning in Twin Lakes, Colorado. I might say you can go wrong with a morning in Twin Lakes, but the alpenglow in this photo is off the charts!

Thanks for sharing and participating in the group Christina. To see more of Christina’s photos, check out here website and social media accounts.

To continue with theme of morning photos, I bring you the work of Lucian Manthey. I’d bet this was a cold morning, but this view and shot of it were I’m sure worth the shivers and cold toes.

If you have not seen Lucian’s work, he has been sharing his beautiful photos in the group and has a strong portfolio of landscape and astrophotography on his website. Check out more of his work on his website and social media accounts.
